This study focuses on young people in Spain, aged between 10 and 25, who have type 1 diabetes and are part of a diabetes association or federation. The main goal is to understand how psychological factors and self-care behaviors impact these individuals. The study aims to explore differences based on age and sex, and how these factors might be associated with each other. By understanding these connections, the study hopes to improve care and self-management for young people living with type 1 diabetes. Participants in this study will answer an online questionnaire, sharing information about their psychological distress, risk of eating disorders, self-perceived health status, treatment adherence, diet, and physical activity. Psychological distress is measured using a short questionnaire called the Diabetes Distress Scale. The risk of eating disorders is evaluated using the Diabetes Eating Problem Survey-Revised. Self-perceived health status is determined by asking participants to rate their own health on a scale. The study does not involve any treatments or interventions, but rather collects information to better understand the experiences of young people with type 1 diabetes.
