Summary
Study start date: December 1, 2025
Actual date on which the first participant was enrolled. This study is focused on helping people who suffer from long-term low back pain, which is affected by various physical and psychological factors. The research explores whether combining two treatment methods, Pain Neuroscience Education and Sensory Discrimination Training, along with core stability exercises, can be more effective than just using Pain Neuroscience Education and exercises alone. Pain Neuroscience Education helps change the way people think about pain, while Sensory Discrimination Training works on improving sensory processing in the brain. This combination is being studied to see if it can reduce negative thinking about pain, decrease fear of movement, and improve physical function for individuals with chronic low back pain. Participants in this study are randomly assigned to two groups. One group receives Pain Neuroscience Education, Sensory Discrimination Training, and core stability exercises, while the other group receives just the education and exercises without the sensory training. These sessions happen twice a week for eight weeks and last 45 minutes each. Researchers measure changes in how participants think about pain, their fear of movement, and their physical abilities over time, specifically at the start, after four weeks, and at the end of the eight weeks. This study is conducted in Lahore to ensure consistent treatment and aims to see if adding Sensory Discrimination Training can lead to better outcomes for those with chronic low back pain.
