This study focuses on assessing a new treatment method called the SiLaC® technique for managing pilonidal sinus disease in adults. Pilonidal sinus disease is a chronic condition that often affects young men, causing inflammation near the tailbone. It can lead to discomfort and affect daily life, especially in individuals with risk factors like obesity or prolonged sitting. Traditional surgeries for this condition can be lengthy and require extensive care afterward. This study is important because it evaluates a less invasive laser-assisted procedure that may improve recovery times and reduce complications, potentially enhancing patients' quality of life and decreasing healthcare demands. Participants in the study will undergo the SiLaC® procedure at Hospital Universitario La Paz, where a laser is used to treat the affected area. The primary focus of the study is to determine how long it takes for patients to fully recover and return to their normal activities after the surgery. Other aspects being evaluated include pain levels, infection rates, recurrence of the condition, overall satisfaction, and the number of follow-up visits needed. Data is collected both from past medical records and through follow-up interviews with patients. The study ensures patient confidentiality and adheres to ethical guidelines, offering no extra risks since the technique is already part of standard care.
