Blended Teaching Model with AI for Nursing Students
A blended online and offline teaching model for internal medicine nursing practice based on generative artificial intelligence
Other Study
Summary
Study start date: January 1, 2026
Actual date on which the first participant was enrolled. This study aims to explore a new way of teaching nursing students about internal medicine using a mix of online and in-person methods, enhanced with generative artificial intelligence. Designed for undergraduate nursing students, the study will test whether this blended teaching approach can improve learning outcomes compared to traditional teaching methods. The new model uses advanced technology, such as a virtual simulation platform and AI-generated clinical cases, to provide a more realistic and interactive learning experience. This approach is important as it may better prepare nursing students for real-world medical situations, enhancing their decision-making and problem-solving skills. In the study, students from the 2024 nursing cohort will experience the new blended learning model, while the 2023 cohort will continue with traditional teaching methods. Participants in the experimental group will engage with AI-enhanced online resources and participate in card-based and scenario-based exercises offline. The effectiveness of this teaching model will be measured using a combination of exams, satisfaction surveys, and interviews. Students' performance will be evaluated on both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, with a focus on their ability to analyze cases and handle emergency situations. The study also includes feedback from teachers and experts to refine the teaching approach further.
