Study start date: November 1, 2025

Actual date on which the first participant was enrolled.

This study is focused on finding out which type of fluoride varnish is better at preventing plaque buildup in patients with fixed orthodontic braces. Researchers are comparing a new type of fluoride varnish that includes titania nanoparticles made from moringa oleifera leaves to the traditional fluoride varnish. The goal is to see if the nanoparticle-infused varnish can better prevent the biofilm that causes plaque, which is important for maintaining good oral health and avoiding complications like cavities or gum disease in people with braces. Participants in the study will have either the new titania nanoparticle-infused fluoride varnish or the conventional fluoride varnish applied to their teeth. The study is structured in such a way that neither the participants nor the researchers will know which type of varnish each participant receives, ensuring unbiased results. The effectiveness of each varnish will be measured by observing the amount of plaque or biofilm that forms over time. This study seeks to provide valuable insights into improving dental care for orthodontic patients.
