This study focuses on understanding how acupuncture can help women who suffer from migraines, especially those who also experience dizziness and balance issues. Migraines are not just severe headaches; they can also cause problems with balance and overall quality of life. Women of reproductive age often deal with migraines, and current medications might not always be suitable, especially during pregnancy, or they might not address balance issues effectively. This study aims to find out if acupuncture, a therapy that involves inserting thin needles into specific points of the body, can safely improve balance and quality of life for these women, alongside reducing migraine pain. Participants in the study are adult women with diagnosed migraines and dizziness. They receive six acupuncture sessions over two weeks. The acupuncture focuses on specific body points known to help with migraines and balance-related symptoms. To measure the effects, the study looks at changes in migraine pain intensity using a visual scale, checks balance through stabilometric tests (where participants stand still with eyes open and closed), and assesses quality of life through a health questionnaire. The trial is a preliminary exploration to see if acupuncture might be a viable and safe alternative or supplement to traditional migraine treatments, especially for those who cannot use certain medications.

Treatment Study

These studies test new ways to treat a disease, condition, or health issue. The goal is to see if a new drug, therapy, or approach works better or has fewer side effects than existing options.

Treatment Groups

Group I

Experimental
Participants in this arm received short-term acupuncture treatment specifically targeted for migraine accompanied by dizziness. The intervention consisted of six acupuncture sessions administered over a two-week period by a licensed acupuncturist. Standardized acupoints (GB7, GB14, GB20, GV20, LI4, LR3, Yintang) were used, with sterile disposable needles inserted according to traditional Chinese medicine guidelines. Each session lasted approximately 30 minutes. No comparator group was included, as this was a pilot exploratory trial.
