Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common hormonal disorder that affects women of reproductive age, particularly troubling for adolescent girls. It can lead to symptoms like irregular periods, excessive hair growth, acne, and weight issues. While the physical symptoms are often addressed, the emotional toll, such as anxiety and depression, is frequently overlooked. This study aims to understand how common these mental health issues are among adolescents with PCOS and to see if using oral contraceptives (OCs) can help improve these conditions. By focusing on these often-ignored aspects, the study seeks to improve overall care for young women with PCOS. Participants in this study will be adolescent girls diagnosed with PCOS. They will be monitored to assess the prevalence of anxiety and depression and how these conditions might change with the use of oral contraceptives. The study will look at various indicators, such as changes in mood and anxiety levels, to determine the effectiveness of the treatment. This research could help provide better treatment options and contribute to a more comprehensive approach in managing PCOS, aiming to address both the physical and mental health challenges associated with the condition.
