Core Stabilization for Balance and Pivot in Young Rhythmic Gymnasts
Core stabilization on stable surfaces
+ Core stabilization on unstable surfaces
Treatment Study
Summary
Study start date: May 5, 2025
Actual date on which the first participant was enrolled. This study is focused on understanding how different types of surfaces used in core stabilization exercises can affect the balance and pivot skills of young rhythmic gymnasts aged 7 to 12. Rhythmic gymnastics demands excellent control of muscles, especially for moves that involve balancing and turning. While many gymnasts include core exercises in their training, it's not clear if the type of surface they train on makes a difference in their performance. This research is important as it could help improve training methods for young gymnasts, potentially enhancing their skills and safety. Participants in this study will be divided into two groups, with each group performing a 7-week core stabilization program on either a stable or an unstable surface. Before and after the training period, their balance and pivot abilities will be evaluated based on international standards for rhythmic gymnastics. The study will help determine how effective the training is and how feasible it would be to use this approach in broader training programs. By assessing these factors, the study could pave the way for more effective training strategies in the future.
