This clinical trial focuses on exploring the benefits of yoga compared to traditional physiotherapy for patients with sarcoidosis, a disease that primarily affects the lungs and is characterized by symptoms like fatigue and difficulty breathing. Sarcoidosis often leads to reduced lung function and muscle weakness, significantly impacting the quality of life. The study aims to determine how yoga, which includes breathing techniques and physical postures, might improve lung function, reduce symptoms like anxiety and depression, and enhance overall well-being alongside conventional physiotherapy. Given the limited non-drug treatment options for sarcoidosis, this research could offer valuable insights for better management of the condition. Participants in this study will engage in either yoga sessions or conventional physiotherapy programs. The treatments aim to improve lung function, exercise capacity, and mental health. Progress will be monitored through various assessments, including a six-minute walking test to gauge exercise capacity, and evaluations of anxiety, depression, fatigue levels, and sleep quality. Yoga's unique approach, which emphasizes slow and deep breathing, may help modulate body functions and alleviate symptoms associated with sarcoidosis. This study seeks to provide a comprehensive understanding of how these non-drug interventions can benefit sarcoidosis patients, potentially guiding future rehabilitation strategies.

This section provides details of the study plan, including how the study is designed and what the study is measuring.
Design Details

32 patients to be enrolled

Total number of participants that the clinical trial aims to recruit.

Treatment Study

These studies test new ways to treat a disease, condition, or health issue. The goal is to see if a new drug, therapy, or approach works better or has fewer side effects than existing options.

Treatment Groups

Group I

Active Comparator
The exercises will be taught to the patients one-on-one by the physiotherapist in the hospital. The exercises will be performed 2 days a week for 8 weeks with a group-based, supervised and standardized tele-rehabilitation program and the remaining 3 days of the week with an exercise diary where they will take notes on their continued exercise. Program content; * Resistance training: Strengthening exercises will be given to the upper and lower extremities * Respiratory Training: Pursed-lip breathing training Chest breathing exercise Diaphragmatic breathing exercise • Thoracic expansion exercises In addition, patients in this group will be given free walking 3 days a week in terms of aerobic training.

Group II

Active Comparator
The pranayama techniques and asanas in this group will be taught one-on-one by the physiotherapist in the hospital. For 8 weeks, 2 days of the week will be a group-based, supervised and standardized telerehabilitation program, and the remaining 3 days of the week will be followed by an exercise diary in which they will take notes on the continuation of the exercises. Content of the program; Pranayamic techniques Asanas In addition, patients in this group will be given free walking 3 days a week in terms of aerobic training.
