Summary
Study start date: March 1, 2025
Actual date on which the first participant was enrolled. This study explores how the scent of lavender oil might help reduce anxiety in family members of patients visiting the emergency department. Anxiety in such situations is common, and finding simple, effective ways to lower stress can improve the overall experience for families. The study aims to determine whether smelling lavender oil can significantly reduce anxiety levels compared to no intervention. Participants are divided into two groups. The first group will smell lavender oil for a few minutes, while the other group will not receive any scent intervention. Anxiety levels are measured using specific scales before and after the intervention for both groups. This helps to see if the lavender oil has any calming effect. The monitoring of anxiety is done using standardized questionnaires about how participants feel, both before and after a short waiting period.
