This study focuses on helping young people stop using e-cigarettes by testing a new tool called the Kick-Nic! app. The study is important because vaping among youth is a growing concern, and finding effective ways to support quitting is crucial. The app teaches skills similar to those found on the National Cancer Institute's (NCI) Quit Vaping webpage, offering guidance on creating a quit plan, dealing with cravings, and understanding addiction. Participants are either given access to this app or directed to the NCI webpage resources, aiming to see which method is more effective in helping teenagers quit vaping. Participants using the Kick-Nic! app will engage with it over eight weeks, completing a module each week and practicing the skills learned. They will also receive motivational messages and regular check-ins from research staff to support their progress. The study measures success by assessing participants at various intervals, including before the study starts and several months after the treatment period ends. The control group, those not using the app, will use the NCI resources and follow the same assessment schedule. The study also includes interviews with some app users to gather feedback on the tool's effectiveness and ways to improve its reach among high school students.
