This clinical trial investigates whether engaging children in watching videos or blowing paper pinwheels can help reduce pain and fear during a medical procedure known as venipuncture. This involves inserting a needle into a vein, which can be quite distressing for young kids, especially those aged 3 to 6 who are hospitalized for the first time. The study aims to see if these fun activities can make the experience less scary and painful, ultimately improving the comfort and emotional well-being of both children and their parents during the procedure. Participants in the study are divided into three groups. One group watches cartoon videos on an iPad, while another group blows on a paper pinwheel. The third group receives standard care without these additional activities. Each child's pain and fear levels are assessed using special scales before and after the venipuncture, while parents' anxiety and satisfaction are also measured. If a child becomes dizzy or uncomfortable, the procedure is immediately halted to ensure safety. The study is conducted at Taichung Veterans General Hospital, and any adverse reactions are managed by the hospital. The goal is to determine if these playful interventions can make a significant difference in the experience of children undergoing such medical procedures.
