VRVirtual Reality and Rehabilitation for Persistent Postural Perceptual Dizziness
This study aims to evaluate how virtual reality combined with rehabilitation can improve balance in individuals with persistent postural perceptual dizziness.

Treatment Study
Summary
Study start date: June 28, 2024
Actual date on which the first participant was enrolled. This study focuses on finding the best way to help people with a condition called persistent postural perceptual dizziness (PPPD). This condition affects a person's sense of balance and can cause stress in daily life. Researchers are looking at three different treatments: virtual reality, conventional vestibular rehabilitation, and progressive muscle relaxation. The goal is to see which method helps improve balance and reduce stress the most. By exploring these treatments, the study aims to help patients become more independent and improve their quality of life. It also seeks to raise awareness about PPPD and promote better understanding and support within the community. Participants in this study will be randomly assigned to one of the three treatment groups. Those in the virtual reality group will use VR technology to engage in exercises designed to improve balance. Participants in the conventional vestibular rehabilitation group will perform traditional balance exercises, while those in the progressive muscle relaxation group will practice techniques to reduce stress and tension. The effectiveness of each treatment will be measured by evaluating changes in balance and stress levels over time. The study does not specify potential risks, but aims to provide insights into which therapy offers the most benefit for patients with PPPD.
