This study investigates the effects of three specific natural extracts—Mirtoselect® bilberry extract, Virtiva® ginkgo biloba extract, and Enovita® grape seed extract—on cognitive performance and mood over a four-week period. The study involves healthy men and women aged between 25 and 55. The research aims to understand whether these supplements can improve mental abilities and mood, which could lead to better mental health strategies and supplement recommendations in the future. The study is important as it explores the potential of natural supplements to enhance cognitive functions and emotional well-being, which are common concerns among adults. Participants in the study are randomly divided into four groups, each receiving either a placebo or one of the three extracts. The study begins with a familiarization phase where participants get used to the cognitive and mood assessments. On the first day of the study, participants take the full cognitive test and mood questionnaire, consume their assigned supplement, and are tested again one and three hours later to check for immediate effects. Over the next 28 days, they take the supplement twice daily. At the end of the study, participants take the same cognitive and mood tests to determine any changes. Safety is monitored by asking participants to report any side effects throughout the study.
