Summary
Study start date: October 9, 2023
Actual date on which the first participant was enrolled.Stroke is a serious condition that affects around 795,000 people in the United States every year. The Millipede AspiRation for Revascularization in Stroke (MARRS) study is looking into a new treatment method for acute ischemic stroke, which happens due to large vessel blockages. This study is particularly important as it aims to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the Millipede System, a device designed to help stroke patients. During the study, participants will undergo a procedure using the Millipede System. The main goal is to achieve successful blood flow restoration in the brain, measured by a score known as mTICI. This score indicates how well the blood is flowing after the procedure. The study will also monitor all adverse events to determine the safety of the Millipede System, paying special attention to any brain bleeding and other complications that could lead to worsening neurological conditions or death.
