Stroke is a serious condition that affects around 795,000 people in the United States every year. The Millipede AspiRation for Revascularization in Stroke (MARRS) study is looking into a new treatment method for acute ischemic stroke, which happens due to large vessel blockages. This study is particularly important as it aims to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the Millipede System, a device designed to help stroke patients. During the study, participants will undergo a procedure using the Millipede System. The main goal is to achieve successful blood flow restoration in the brain, measured by a score known as mTICI. This score indicates how well the blood is flowing after the procedure. The study will also monitor all adverse events to determine the safety of the Millipede System, paying special attention to any brain bleeding and other complications that could lead to worsening neurological conditions or death.

Protocol

This section provides details of the study plan, including how the study is designed and what the study is measuring.
Design Details

246 patients to be enrolled

Total number of participants that the clinical trial aims to recruit.

Treatment Study

These studies test new ways to treat a disease, condition, or health issue. The goal is to see if a new drug, therapy, or approach works better or has fewer side effects than existing options.

Eligibility

Researchers look for people who fit a certain description, called eligibility criteria: person's general health condition or prior treatments.
