PEDIAOBSTAnti-Infective Drug Compliance in Pediatric Outpatients at Nimes University Hospital
This study aims to observe how well children receiving anti-infective medications at Nimes University Hospital follow their treatment plans.
Data Collection
Collected from today forward - ProspectiveCohort
Tracking disease incidence in order to identify risk factors and understand disease progression over time.Summary
Study start date: March 6, 2018
Actual date on which the first participant was enrolled. This study aims to understand how well children follow their doctor's instructions on taking anti-infective drugs after leaving the hospital. Resistance to these drugs is a growing concern worldwide, making it crucial to ensure they are used correctly. Unfortunately, little research has focused on whether kids follow their medication plans after being discharged, especially with antibiotics. This study specifically looks at children who have just left the hospital and rely on their caregivers to help manage their medications correctly. By understanding these patterns, the study hopes to find ways to improve how these important medicines are used at home, ultimately improving treatment for pediatric infections. The study observes children after they leave the hospital to see if they take their anti-infective medications as prescribed. It looks at how often the medications are taken correctly, which is known as the compliance rate. Since this is an observational study, children and their caregivers are not asked to change their normal routines. Instead, researchers gather information to see how well instructions are followed in real-life settings. The results will help identify any gaps in medication adherence and guide future interventions to improve drug management for children recovering from infections.
