This study focuses on HIV-infected patients who have not yet developed AIDS. Criteria
6 inclusion criteria required to participate
Allowed concurrent medication: Aerosolized pentamidine
Allowed prior medication: Aerosolized pentamidine
HIV-1 p24 antigen must be detected in supernatant fluids from co-cultures of patients' peripheral blood monocytes (PBMC) on two separate occasions
Patients with HIV "wasting syndrome" are allowed

9 exclusion criteria prevent from participating
Immunomodulatory or experimental therapy within 30 days of study entry
Intravenous drug abuse
Patients with AIDS as defined by the CDC
Patients with abnormal chest x-ray (indicative of active disease (opportunistic infection)) within 30 days prior to study entry
