Criteria

11 inclusion criteria required to participate
Concurrent use of antiviral such as zidovudine.

Relapse after prior therapy.

Concurrent use of prophylaxis for Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia (PCP) including aerosol pentamidine.

Prior use of immunosuppressant therapy.

Evidence of acute or chronic meningitis based upon any etiology other than cryptococcosis.

Unlikely to survive more than 2 weeks.

Use of Coumadin-type anticoagulants.

Comatose.
