Summary
The study focuses on exploring the potential benefits of Prednisone, a type of medication, in managing Alzheimer's Disease. This research is designed for individuals diagnosed with Alzheimer's, aiming to understand if Prednisone can improve their condition. The importance of this trial lies in its potential to uncover new treatment options for Alzheimer's, a disease currently without a cure. In this study, participants are randomly assigned to two groups - one receives Prednisone while the other receives a placebo, a substance with no therapeutic effect. Neither the participants nor the researchers know who gets which, ensuring unbiased results. The participation lasts for 68 weeks, during which individuals need to visit the clinic 15 times. Participants are required to take Prednisone or the placebo daily, with the highest dose being 20 mg, along with calcium and vitamin supplements.
