Cette étude vise à explorer les avantages de l'offre d'un soutien juridique gratuit aux aidants et aux patients confrontés au cancer colorectal. Puisque la gestion de cette condition peut être à la fois financièrement et émotionnellement difficile, l'essai examine si une aide juridique précoce peut aider à améliorer la qualité de vie de ceux qui sont impliqués. L'accent est mis sur la manière dont ces services peuvent aider à atténuer le stress financier et à améliorer le bien-être émotionnel, en répondant aux besoins non satisfaits de l'expérience de soins. Les participants à l'étude, qui comprennent à la fois les patients et leurs aidants, recevront des services juridiques complémentaires et personnalisés fournis par Cancer Legal Care, une organisation à but non lucratif basée dans le Minnesota. Ces services sont destinés à aider à toute question juridique qui pourrait survenir pendant le parcours de traitement du cancer. L'étude dure trois mois, mais les participants sont les bienvenus pour continuer à accéder au soutien juridique même après la fin de l'étude. Cette approche évalue la faisabilité et l'acceptabilité d'intégrer les soins juridiques dans le système de soutien pour ceux qui sont touchés par le cancer colorectal.
Colorectal Cancer Patient Inclusion Criteria: * Diagnosis of advanced stage (Stage III or Stage IV) colorectal cancer within the past 3 months. * Initiated or planning to initiate systemic cancer therapy. * Able to identify a caregiver for study participation. * Estimated life expectancy of over 6 months in the opinion of the treating oncologist. * 18 years of age or older at the time of consent. * Able to understand, speak, read, and write in English. * Able to provide voluntary written consent prior to the performance of any research related activity. Caregiver Inclusion Criteria: * 18 years of age or older at the time of consent. * Identified as a caregiver by a colorectal cancer patient. * Able to understand, speak, read, and write in English. * Able to provide voluntary written consent prior to the performance of any research related activity. Exclusion Criteria: * Lacks capacity to consent/diminished capacity to consent.
