This study is designed to explore how effective mobile phone reminders are in helping people with fixed braces maintain good oral hygiene. It targets individuals who are wearing braces, which require special care to avoid dental problems like cavities or gum disease. By improving oral hygiene practices, the study aims to reduce common issues associated with braces, providing a potentially simple and effective way to enhance dental care. Participants in the study are divided into two groups. The control group receives standard verbal instructions about oral hygiene, such as brushing with soft bristles for two minutes, daily flossing, using a fluoride mouth rinse, and avoiding certain foods. The intervention group gets the same instructions plus the addition of mobile apps that send reminders to practice good oral hygiene twice a day. Researchers then track the participants' hygiene practices and evaluate their effectiveness after four weeks, comparing the two groups to see if the mobile reminders make a significant difference.

Study Objectives

One single intervention group is designated in this study

This study does not include a placebo group

Treatment Groups

Group I

Experimental
the subjects received the same oral hygiene instructions that were described to the control group with the addition of downloading two mobile applications: Brushout app and Brush teeth reminder app. These applications were adjusted to send notifications twice daily in the morning and night as reminders to practice oral hygiene. In addition, oral hygiene practice was tracked by a link that was sent electronically and checked by study researchers as a compliance protocol. Like the control group, subjects were re-examined after 4 weeks.
